A Profound Career Journey

Before spending 20 years in tech, what defined your path?

I’ve spent most of my career working with Microsoft platforms as a solution architect. It’s been a journey of constant learning, experimenting, and building solutions that genuinely make a difference.

How have the experiences shaped your work today?

My time as a tech consultant and even as an entrepreneur during Covid taught me resilience. Failing once showed me the value of structure, focus, and persistence.

Some lessons along the way...

Entrepreneurship taught me a few key lessons that reinforced my need to adapt quickly, learn from setbacks, and balance ambition with practical execution.

From the ground up with Clarity and Care

How did you build teams and processes from the ground up?

When you start from zero, clarity becomes your biggest ally. I made it a point to document everything, even when formal Scope of Work wasn’t in place. Writing things down brought structure where there wasn’t any.

We stayed close to our clients, openly discussed gaps, and addressed them early. It wasn’t about rigid processes; it was about creating alignment, avoiding conflicts, and building something steady and dependable together.

But execution challenges? They came complimentary, but Hemavathi stood tall.

It wasn’t easy, but by breaking down tasks, tackling simpler ones first, maintaining clear communication, and planning mitigation strategies for potential risks, I managed to sail through despite the challenges.

The Leadership Mindset Rooted in Strength and Grace

Your take on what women leaders bring on projects

feel women often ask sharp, well-timed questions that bring clarity to complexity. They stay aligned to clear goals while thinking about the real, on-the-ground impact. It is about holding the full picture together, strategy and sensitivity alike.

Do you think, as women, striking a balance between ambition and family is important?

Absolutely! As women, it’s always a tug-of-war between balancing family and career. As for meI make sure my team has flexibility, especially around family commitments, and I prioritize personal happiness alongside professional goals.

One golden advice for upcoming women leaders in tech...

Focus on building the right mindset and culture. Lead with dignity, be professional, and aim to inspire, and it’s rare but worth it.

Momentum comes from Collaboration

Transparency- the true differentiator

I believe frequent updates and honest conversations with clients created a strong sense of alignment. It helped the entire team face challenges together instead of in silos.

How do you get business, IT, and quality teams moving in the same direction?

For me, it starts with staying close and staying in conversation. I encourage constant communication, so no one feels out of the loop. When teams feel connected and informed, misunderstandings reduce, delays become rare, and the work simply flows better.

Moments that Truly Matter

A favorite moment at iNube?

he client conversations that begin with uncertainty and end in clarity. One that stands out is the Bajaj Insurance negotiation for the insurance system implemented for Crop Insurance. What started as a challenge turned into a win because we relied on data to guide the right decisions.

Qualities that keep you grounded when it gets tough?

Clear objectives, calmness under pressure, transparency, and a proactive approach to risk really help me navigate complex situations.

Leadership- The Hemavathi Way

"Clarity builds confidence, and confidence builds great teams."

How do you balance strengths and weaknesses in a team?

I align tasks with people’s strengths while offering support wherever needed. When people feel capable and supported, productivity and motivation follow naturally.

Transparency- A key in Hemavathi’s leadership strategy

I believe in being open and outspoken. Clear, consistent updates keep clients and teams aligned. When everyone understands where things stand, friction naturally reduces.
